Peppermint Matcha

Prepare yourself for a Matcha experience unlike any other. Trust us when we say you’ve never encountered a beverage quite like this. As the ancient Roman philosopher Pliny the Elder once noted, “As for the garden mint, the very smell of it alone recovers and refreshes the spirits.” You’ll find that the enchanting aroma of craft-ground peppermint combined with premium Izu Matcha refreshes the spirit even more.

For centuries, health folklore has praised peppermint for its ability to alleviate ailments like nausea, abdominal pain, and fatigue. While we can’t scientifically verify all these claims, we can attest to the soothing effects peppermint has during stressful moments or hectic workdays. Similarly, Matcha offers a calming experience that enhances relaxation.

Originally, Matcha served as the cornerstone of the Japanese tea ceremony, designed to foster a sense of tranquility. The ceremony’s structured approach aimed to transport drinkers away from life’s hustle and bustle to a serene state of mind. Nowadays, we often refer to this state as “going to your happy place.” In that spirit, we introduce Peppermint Matcha to the Natteas collection.

This delightful blend combines the rich flavours of green tea with the invigorating essence of natural peppermint, ensuring that each sip transports you to your happy place. Smooth and astringent, Peppermint Matcha is layered with aromatic mint, creating a magical beverage that feels truly special. Brew a cup and let your spirits soar!

HOT BREWING METHOD:

Bring filtered or freshly drawn water to a rolling boil and let cool to roughly 180’F/82’C.

Use 1/2 tsp.(1g) per 225 ml serving. Add 1/2 tsp(1g) to the base of the cup and add 60 ml hot water & mix vigorously to make a smooth paste-like liquid. Top with freshly steamed milk(or substitute) and sweeten to taste.(Try maple syrup or honey)Ideal Brewing Temperature: 85ºC/185ºF. For Food Safety reasons bring water to 100ºC/212ºF and let it cool down to 85ºC/185ºF.

ICED TEA BREWING METHOD

For 225ml serving: Into cup add 1/2 tsp. of matcha and 60ml of hot water. Mix vigorously to make a smooth paste. Top with freshly steamed milk + sweeten to taste. Cool for 30-60min. Pour over ice.

We strongly recommend using filtered or freshly drawn cold water brought to a rolling boil when brewing all types of tea. Today’s water has been known to carry viruses, parasites and bacteria. Boiling the water will kill these elements and reduce the potential incidence of water-borne illnesses.
