Berry Berry: A Delightful Herbal Fusion
Berry Berry is an exciting herbal and fruit tea that caters to those seeking a refreshing, caffeine-free beverage. This blend offers a delightful taste experience, whether enjoyed hot or cold. In fact, some of our friends in the northern regions enjoy transforming it into a warming mulled drink by simmering it with a few cloves and cinnamon sticks, then adding red wine. It’s the perfect companion for chilly, stormy nights!
A Flavourful Herbal and Fruit Blend
Many of our friends claim that this tea is their favourite herbal and fruit infusion. The hibiscus adds a refreshing tartness, while currants contribute a distinctive character—black currants bring fruitiness, and red currants add a delightful tang. Meanwhile, raisins introduce a natural sweetness that rounds out the flavor profile beautifully.
For a warm drink, consider garnishing with a cinnamon stick and a slice of orange. Instead of using white sugar, opt for brown sugar to enhance the spice and brightness of the berries.
Refreshing Iced Berry Delight for Summer
During warmer months, this iced version is hard to beat! It’s incredibly refreshing, thirst-quenching, and perfectly balanced—never overly sweet. For a touch of elegance at formal gatherings, garnish your glass with a strawberry and a sprig of mint. For casual occasions, simply pour it into your glass and enjoy it sip by sip!
Fun Treats for Kids
If you have young children, try making gel popsicles with this herbal blend! Just lightly sweeten and freeze it in molds. Your kids will absolutely love this fun, fruity treat.
Caffeine-Free and Nutritious Choice
Because this blend is a special combination of fruits and herbs, it contains no tea and is completely caffeine-free. Additionally, it provides a boost of Vitamin C, making it a healthy choice for any time of day. Enjoy this delightful herbal drink and discover your new favourite!
HOT BREWING METHOD:
Bring filtered or freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 2 slightly heaping teaspoons of loose tea for each 7-9oz / 200-260ml of fluid volume in the teapot. Pour the boiling water into the teapot. Cover and let steep for 5-10 minutes according to taste (the longer the steeping time the stronger the tea). Garnish & sweeten to taste. Ideal Brewing Temperature: 100ºC/212ºF
ICED TEA BREWING METHOD
(Pitcher): (to make 1 liter/quart): Place 12 slightly heaping teaspoons of herb & fruit blend into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Using filtered or freshly drawn cold water, boil and pour 1¼ cups/315ml over the herb & fruit blend. Steep for 5-10 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher, straining the tea. Add ice and top-up the pitcher with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste. A rule of thumb when preparing freshly brewed iced herb & fruit tea is to increase the strength of hot brew since it will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water.
(Individual Serving): Place 2 slightly heaping teaspoons of herb & fruit blend into a teapot for each serving required. Using filtered or freshly drawn cold water, boil and pour 6-7oz/170-200ml per serving over the herb & fruit blend. Cover and let steep for 5-10 minutes. Add hot tea to a 12oz/375ml acrylic glass filled with ice, straining the tea. Not all of the tea will fit, allowing for approximately an additional ½ serving. Garnish and sweeten to taste. A rule of thumb when preparing freshly brewed herb & fruit tea is to increase the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted.
We strongly recommend using filtered or freshly drawn cold water brought to a rolling boil when brewing all types of tea. Today’s water has been known to carry viruses, parasites and bacteria. Boiling the water will kill these elements and reduce the potential incidence of water-borne illnesses.
